Pre Paid Funeral Plans:

Don’t do it!

Our advice is simple, do not take out pre-paid funeral plans as they are proven to be vulnerable and extremely inflexible investments.

We hear horror stories all the time, here are a couple of examples:

Mr A. wanted to save his wife the trauma of paying for the funeral, so he invested £10,000 to pay for a burial. When he died, 10 years later, the widow went to the Co-op who refused to make any arrangements for 3 to 4 weeks! His widow ended up coming to us, having the funeral arranged in a few days but paying out twice. Daughter C. said “I wanted to use Tim at Bradley & Jones but mum had taken out a pre paid funeral plan without consulting me and I have no choice but to use this other firm!”

Instead, our advice is to leave us with your wishes in writing and put the money in a saving account. When the time comes, we can get our invoice paid directly out of the frozen funds.

This leaves you and your family with complete peace of mind, as with Banks and Building Societies, up to £85,000 of your savings is guaranteed by the government in case of default.
